If I was a poley,
I'd strap a knife to my leg like the skindivers do.
No more tangles !
......and wear my boardies over my steamer.
LOL.

Maybe kiters should wear plates

  • L: Learner
  • P: Provisional
  • E: Experienced

That way we won't need to use those skindiving knives as often

Fatboy
You are getting across a very valid point of view for the Newcastle area.

I've never seen a full on colision or a some poor bloke collecting a kiters lines. But stuff me, it would be bloody ugly. It seems not for the kiter as he can release. Poor other bugga tangled up.

The big issue with kitesurfing is that the **** hits the fan HARD when things go bad. People totally underestimate the power of those things... but i've seen a couple of lessions happen in 25 knots with a 12m kite..... **** you should see the action when the guy accidently puts kite through the powerzone.. rag doll country .

I'm not really into waves... not now with kitesurfing or when i used to windsurf either but definately waves are more of a "requirement" with windsurfing (flat water windsurfing can't get you much air but can get you huge air with a kite).

I've taken the advice of the teabaggers of not to fear strings and I now use this to my advantage to piss them off. I hold my ground when I have right of way on a tack. I try and get as close to them as possible under their lines, when the change direction that really seems to piss em off. They soon start to not kite near me.

DON'T FEAR STRINGS.

Rather be a slayer than a slave !

No brothers, we must save the waves. Everyone fill up your baths and look after a wave at home. They are precious and there arent many left.

Dear WaveSave,
You dumb MOFO.
You can't save a wave, all you can do is ride em.

A wave is the movement of energy thru a medium, liquid in our case.

Cheers,
slave.

WaveSlave,
Ah the old "Wave = Movement of energy through a medium" statement.
Not strictly true according to some fella called Albert.
What about a light wave? Whats the medium?
Can a light wave not travel through a vacuum?

Thats why waves will keep in your bath. but you have to keep the lights turned off.

I think wind is energy! Sound is the movement of energy thru air.

Mini Strings,
Fantastic Idea.
Like no more than 5m in length. Thats the same size as a windsurf mast.

I love all this aggression. Funny how it never transpires on the water though. Must be all talk.

What a dick. Yeah that would work until you tried it with someone like myself who would just let go of thier kite so it wrapped you up and dragged you to the beach. oops sorry mate i didnt see you there!!!

King your days in the sun and wind are OVER look around you the writing is on the wall, I have kited 9 days in a row with a hell 3 hour session at kitestock in waves and the best part no winging polesurfers getting in the way dogging around . What do all the young chicks in Gero want to learn? Kitesurfing!!!! Once your generation has moved to the retirement village talking of how it used to be, kiters will be able to keep their kites low and keep on ripping ,boosting and slashing without having a poley tangled in strings. Paradise!!!!

Dear Mini Mal,

To be brutally honest,
and if there's no avoiding a crowd,
I would prefer to kite in the waves with 20 poleys,
rather than wavekite with 20 clueless kook kitesurfers.

But sometimes I can smell the string-fear,
and see it in their sad eyes.
Poleys, poor bastards.

Safe kiting,
waveslave.

Not a very convincing argument. When was the last time you met a young chick who knew anything about anything??? All they can do is follow mindless trends.

Kiting ... the rich man's hula hoop. Jeez, I bet there won't be much of it going on in 10 years, while windsurfing will be at even more impressive levels by then. Why? Kiting is a gimmick, it's dangerous and it's a hassle.

CUT 'EM DOWN!!! STRING 'EM UP!!! KICK 'EM OUT!!!!!!!!1

The chicks may not know whats going on but they look alot hotter than a busted ar#e old polesurfer washing up on the point. Waveslave to be honest its hard to find a crowd here. Three hour sessions with no one in sight are very common. Stringphobia "be alert not alarmed".

Dear Mini Mal,
I don't get it ?
If there is no crowd problem,
why the anguish between you and the poleys ?

kiters need to share the break and give the same consideration to other windsurfers as they would give to one another and other surfers.
basically if they are getting in your way or not following the rules chances are they are a crappy learner or a complete ******, if so when they come in off the water have a talk to them and you will soon relise which of these 2 they are. if they are a learner tell them its not safe at that spot and guide them to somewhere where you arent, if they are a complete ****** get someone to sort them out.
p.s. most of the good kiters will consider everyone and do there best not to get in your way because chances are they were or still are a surfer or a windsurfer and know what it feels like.

WHO s bitchen bitch.
You obviously dont understand some of the issues.
We put up with 6 months of tourists and show great tolorance towards kiters and other kook windsurfers.
In fact there welcomed.
We have very few problems with everyone on the water considering

You got 100 people on the water sailing in and out (how many runs in and out in a day say 50--100
100 people x 75 runs equales 7500 possiable head on collisions. If my maths right
PLUS STRINGS makes it a bit tight at time.
All sayed and done if yr taken it to heart, im laughing harder.
lick it kiters and pollies

We must all fight together brothers, Teabags and Polies, against the real enemy.

THE SNORKELLERS! Bast**ds. With their little pipes sticking out of the water and String bags full of fish.
I HATE Them.
