Dunno Divaldo. I went down there about 5 ish, my dear sweet boss said "lets knock off early so you can go sailing" but it was sse and Burt was the only guy there. He is a grasshopper I bet I weigh more than he does, more every day actually, too much chocolate and wine, and he was moving and there was little waves but it was kind of glassy inshore and I was satisfyingly muscle sore from the day before so I went home and it glassed off I think. I thought about going to Seaclif******id you sail???? But I knew it was going se and it always messes Seacliff up when it does that. But its been SE all night but light now, and will probably just increase all afternoon, see you down there about 5 ish???? I'm stuck at work, playing with my new (old secondhand but its all I can afford right now) camera.

Hey Guys - Seacliff was OK from about 1230 - I sailed from around 3 till 430 - 5.2 and skate should have gone 5.8 but it looked windier - dead flat though hardly a lump until right out - fun but patchy at times went for a cruise around to marino was a bit iffy at times out there - good down wind run coming back though-

20-25 knt seabreeze today maybe the BOM will be right- could be good wind along the whole coast - SE may be a bit late 2day - but tomorrow should crank and should be a small wave - here's hopin.

Swell is only 1 ft with outgoing tide at the mid - maybe some backhanders at seaford or moana around 2ish if seebreeze really kicks - if there's not too many attemting to surf.

Dave - a bummer you pulled up just in time for the SE - seems to be pretty common with seacliff around that 4-5pm mark - they say it blew till 7pm on thursday

Catch you in the water.

Had my first sail in Whyalla yesterday... it was pretty good . The wind in SA seems to be a bit more gusty than the WA seabreezes though.

I can't get over the huge salt content of the water up in the gulf. It makes a huge difference to your buoyancy.

This afternoon is looking good, 20/25knt SE.

Your right DL - should call it South Gustralia - It's a miracle if you actually get steady wind that doesn't range about 10 or more knts - it's probably why everyone one ride bigger floatier boards cause you always have at least a few plodding runs no matter what you rig

Hey susie - u maybe right they have backed the seabreeze forecast off at 1130 update and called 15-20 sth brighton - sellicks hill still 13-17 SE - hers hoping - its still 15knt sw at my place in seaford -

Well, with this weird salty water in the gulf I was able to schlog along on a 76L board.

The gust pattern feels different from in WA. It seems like there are holes in the wind, rather than gusts... and those holes are bloody huge.

G'day Dave

That was me at Somerton, I was on the water at 4:30 for about 1 hour. I sailed my 5m on a 83 litre wave board. Bert sailed at the funnel and said it was no good.

It should be good today and tomorrow.

Seeya soon

Sea breeze is starting to kick in. Funnel now sse. Lots of people buying wine today. Seeing this thread's on wind and work. Stuck here eating chocolate. How come you got off early yesterday Darren? Damn that's a whole block gone.
Now its gone back se 16 to 20. Probably be a white out by the time I knock off.

Susie, if you have to eat chocolate, eat the Aero bars, they have holes of air in them, must be less chocolate in them!

Why did we go shopping today and not sailing!? No wind at Marion!

Sellicks didn't happen last night by 530 Great 2ft sets and the hill was recording up to 30 knts.

Looks like the northern seabreezes did it again - what do you do today north or south - gusty with 2 ft waves and maybe no wind or chop heaven at Sema4 and resonable wind. 23-28knts - BOM better get it right

AHHH the dilemma - at least if your at work you don't have to worry about it - you just think your missing out

Hey Russh, Suzie and Dave

I sailed Bower Rd yesterday arvo from 3:30 until 6pm, it was pumping!! at times shoulder heigh waves to jump. First run out two nice jumps and then a backloop, but I had to water start out of it.

The forecast today looks even better 23 to 28 knots. Lets see what happens.

What a great start to the season!

Aero bars for sure!

Did you sail yesterday?

Kym tried, was too windy if there is such a thing, Dean and Timmy were out on 3.7's, everyone else over powered, we waited around for 5 hours for it to abate, but ended up going for a swim and drinknig beers instead! Burp!

I did actually rig up the 6.7 early, it was 15 knots, easterly, perfect flat water sailing up and dwon the beach at Sellicks, but as soon as the funnel started to work it was all over! Fark it was windy!

Hey Dave & Darren - there's 3 photos from yesterday on the photo pages "Fleurieu Peninsula" - they give you a bit of an idea how breezy - taken around five after I came in - I reckon my arms are a foot longer and my knees are shot from the chop - even the wave faces had waves running across them - bloody good fun though

Great photos Russh, they really show how windy it was. I must have been crazy trying my 4.2 when YOU had trouble with a 4.2. It was seriously windy wasn't it? The good thing about that is that I had to take photos instead I got some great shots of Timmy, but I have to make them a bit smaller to post them, he was pretty happy with them. I LOVE my new (old) camera. How windy was it anyway? Just looked at the bom site. What it shows is nothing like what happened at the beach Saturday OR Sunday for that matter. Sailed last night (sunday)too. It was southerly then southeast then holes then southerly then bla bla. At least I only fell off 3 times out to sea. HATE those seaweed patches. Back at work now

Or quit work, live in a board bag, and eat dog food.

Now you're talking! Except I'd rather catch fish than eat dog food... but a nice big Formula boardbag would provide ample accomodation!! With a sail lean-to; that's where the Superfreaks would really be useful, because monofilm sails wouldn't provide much shade...
