Hi i was at the wave nats and Glen was using the delta/kinetic production board for at least most of the time. i think from memory he said he was using the blue juice boards up in greenhead and i think he also may have had one of those new thruster delta boards? I'm pretty sure Scotts boards were just the standard evos for the nationals.
On another note, a few people have been saying that the stone boards are really tough. I've heard that the type of foam they use is a lot more prone to delamination. Can anyone verify this?

Hi Guys
Glen is sponsored by Kinetic Australia and yes he was riding a production Kinetic Delta at the nationals. As Marty is the shaper for Kinetic Sailboards its his "customs" that team riders use that generally become the plugs for Kinetic production wave boards.
I hope this makes sense.
I think team riders on custom boards painted up as productions is a good thing. How else would the sport progress if everyone rode production all the time.

Managing Rocker is the black art of the board shaper.
Too much and you aint gonna plane or get massive jumps.
Too little and the board wont turn at all.
Basically you want the fastest rocker going while still achieving funky levels of looseness. This is where the 3d interplay of vee , concave and rail shaping gets tricky. Most shapers start out with some overly bent boards in their early years and quickly learn about efficiency and the need for slippery shapes. A classic rockerline will be comitted to a jig as they arent that easy to come up with.
A good fish will plane up nice and early while delivering good drive ! The Evos veer towards a little more drag in the rocker but deliver sensational looseness, pop and aerial action out of relatively weak lips. A good sailor (Scott, Ben etc) will use this action to get massive boost out of a powerful wave.
Scotty won the world title on production gear. However when he is here he and much of the Starboard team will be trying all sorts of different shapes and constructions to try and move the sport forwards.
And it all happens right here in our back yard !
