Agree imax, but joints are bad!
I either route or sand a 20mm strip along the bottom, so I can overlap without causing a lump. The carbon reinforcing around the deck impact zone doesn't overlap, that gives me the nice hard release on the trailing edge.

Some overlap around corner and radius is the key for me. Sand or route on flat to avoid lump the only good way to not sand out overlap. Amazing reduce of repair since i do it right, only few minutes lost for sand blank and for laminate longer laps, less fiber waste.

there is another factor of putting your love into the board,... youll sorta be married to it, not want to replace it but it probly wont be as nice, as light, or hi perf as a commercial construction. i'd suggest make a surfboard, a SUP, or windsup - love its 'character', keep it, it's yours :)
