1. cause you loose your fear of heights
so forwards will no longer be a problem
2. you can get out in 8 knts and be over powered
unless your on a 12m and course board this will not happen
3. you spend less time looking for a car park as it all fits in your back pack and just ride to the water .
need i go on

...and you can also get a job at Starbucks 'cause your getting skilled at dunking teabags.

Isnt there another section on this website where kiters can write in???

A good point about the 8knts scenario especially when you are pushing the scales at over 110kg. But from my experience when the wind gets over 25knts or the conditions are "cold frontal" and gusty the kiters suddenly become a little wind shy.

Give me 25+knts any day!

Kaos,
Maybe your topic title should have read;
"Kiting makes you a better wavesailor"
because.......
1. There's no fat arse sail rig in your face.
2. The boards are smaller and therefore looser.
3. You can ride backside or frontside on a bearaway.
4. You can get barrelled.

I'll stop now.
Don't want to upset any poleys.

Regards

Wavesailing makes you a better kiter because:

1) You will grow some balls
2) You will appreciate learning respectable moves instead of having a pull over gay little flicky tricks.
3) You won't get scared about going out in over 20 knots.
4) You will ride a wave properly
5) You will learn to respect other water users instead of claiming superiority over all other sports that have come before yours.
6) You will look for the best break to ride, rather than look for the nearest person to showoff in front of.

Nice to have a visit from the baggy pants brigade again.
Bit boring over there is it?

Well mike now that you are a kiting superstar and have no fear of heights, are you still a forwardsless wonder?as you say "forwards will no longer be a problem"I expect you to be doing them once you get back to WA

Waveslave, windsurfers can get barreled but they usually done come out, like me (and ended up loosing my rig)

Title should be "Kitesurfing makes you forget how sh1t you really were at windsurfing"
Most ex-windsurfing teabaggers fall into the "never really could wavesail" category.
Most can't surf for sh1t either and that shows when they **** up the waves.
Only thing kiters can do is dingle dangle in the air whilst having a pull. And talk themselves up to make themselves feel hardcore.

(1) yeah cos bailing out of a 40footer you stuffed up on flat water kiting is fine. Bailing out of a 40 footer in mast and a half over a reef is a different story. Maybe that's why kiters have no fear of heights Mikey
(2) 8 knots not my idea of hardon material... powered up or not
(3) decent wavesailing spots don't have parking problems cos we don't let the kiters know where they are

Mikey u need to come back to ur roots and have a wavesail. Forget the 4 lined dacron scrote dragging along an Esky lid with straps.

Da Slave,

You are correct, the use of your name was a cowardly form of snipping even for forums.

But at the end of the day you have to remember

Imitation is the sincerest form of flatery

Also

An imitation can never be as good as the "Original" Waveslave, only a pale insignificant copy.

We are now aware of this sniper.

So we can get back onto the original thread which was the Captain Kaos taking the piiiss

i rekon mike you will be back to windsurfing when the sea breezes fire up over here, and your kites will fall into disrepair... or maybe u will sell them and buy another freestyle board, or some other cool toy.
