Hmmmm... might be able to do "Mary had a little lamb"... would have to be the right conditions though, and getting the sound to stop then start at the one pitch would be tricky. Chop hopping does work, I've done it before, the sound seems to gets louder just as the fin starts to leave the water for some reason then stops when in the air.
Where's my waterproof sound recorder gone?
You would be able to hear the fin over the Yyyyyeeeehhhhhaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhsssss
i used to have an old 6'8 surfboard real thick and whenever the waves got over three foot the fin would whistle kind of cool and i could definately feel the vibration through my feet
Hey Johno, me thinks fin too mate. Had the same, reseated the fin, better fit and no more noise. But I do miss it, used to start at about 25 knots, sounded like a supercharger cutting in
hi firiebob it's amazing how i thought this was only happening to me at this part of the world..so as i said i set the fin and all sides looks perpendicular 90degs. so i guess next step would try to sand..mineral has pm'ed me regarding chamfering so will try with 600grit..surfboards too huh?!? maybe if all the whining fins got together that'd all be nice to hear
Nebbian, if you can get this musical fin thing really wired, you'll be set for life, d'you realise that? You'd be in demand all over the world, at every big windsurf contest, even yacht races and things like that. Money, cars, booze, women - the world will be yours...lucky bastard.
