I have made a couple of 'RSP' files specifically for GPS-SS (Doppler) and GPS-Speed Challenge (Trackpoints) with the relevant divisions set up correctly.

An 'RSP' file is a file that saves all your divisions in it. You use the 'File' 'Open' to load it into RealSpeed (there is a default one that normally loads and you can modify that one with extra divisions if you like)

The idea I use is to store these 'RSP' files in the same folder as my data. Then after opening RealSpeed I first open the 'RSP' file with the divisions I want and then open my data file.
To calculate results for the other website just open the other 'rsp' file (while leaving your data in the program) and the program will do a recalc with the new results.

It is actually very simple and quick when I have it set up this way.

It would be possible to create on huge 'RSP' file with both Doppler and Trackpoint divisions etc, but the disadvantage of this is that it would take a lot longer to calculate the results each time. I find it better to have alternate 'RSP' files.

Navilink 2!!!

How did that sneak past us all?

After seeing Frants reference to it in an earlier post I went to the Locosys website and found this new version.

It is a very big improvement on the original Navilink with some great new features, one being the ability to view the speed genie data on screen, although you must remember to save the test file after it opens.

I may start using this again as it does seem pretty easy to use now!

Hardpole, I have only used the internal memory downloaded with Navilink II. The data is the same as I understand it. I have finally this weekend bought a card reader, but also bought my wife a new laptop so setting up the home PC with a wireless router etc means that the card reader is still in its package. I personally feel that downloading from internal memory with Navilink II is OK as you dont have to take the card out of the GPS.
BTW anyone know what the warranty situation with the Navis' is like. Mine lost the bottom half of the screen display on the weekend. Still works OK but it can be a bit tricky when performing resets etc. Will send in for warranty claim to the crowd from whom I purchased but don't want to be without a GPS for long.

The files on the memory card will contain more info than is available from the internal memory - the type of info, depends on the version of the firmware.

For example, the the memory card files may contain the signal strength for the satellites that are currently "lock"ed, for each second. Depending on who you talk to this data may or may not be needed for determining the quality of signal reception; you can use GPSResults to show this extra info (ie: the little satellite-earth-view).
