Pt augusta has an awesome sea breeze. Very similar to whyalla.

Best spots to sail:

Yacht Club / Aquatic Centre Beach

For the best wind you have to sail upwind so it is not interrupted by the mangroves. There are some crew that work at the Aquatic centre that are about intermediate stage and they would be keen to go for a sail most arvos after work. give them a call 86422699

Hospital Beach

It is really good on a med to high tide and is about 1.5km across to the other side so big enough to get a few good runs in. At low tide there is lots of sharp nasties growing on the bottom and its a bit of a walk to get to the water. Shoes are a must.

Port Paterson

Is a bay on the southern side of the power station. about 15min drive. My fav spot to sail and kite. only works on a tide higher than 1.8m. But red sandy bottom and waist to chest deep for a few ks and flat water for most of it.

Shacks

Just drive down the shack road almost to the end and there is a little sandy beach out the front of a couple of shacks. You can see it from google maps. Only prob with it is you do get allot of weed at low tide and beware of razor fish.

Hope this helps if you want to ask me anything else ill try and help you out best I can.
