My advice is go to PJ's Peter Johnston's and buy pre cut numbers and letters there. They are cheap, I think it cost $16 for two set's for me yesterday.

Peter Johnson are about $3 a letter and would have to most probably make them to order as the height must be minimum 230mm, width 150mm with 30mm line thickness. (you may be lucky and they have them in stock, sounds like Russ was)

In your case FOS 3 letters and 4 numbers = 7x3= $21
and you need to have both sides marked. 2x21=$42 for one sail to be marked.

The good thing about spending the money is that the numbers should last for the life of the sail and they will be there for any event you go in.

The bad thing about spending the money, is spending the money if you only go in one or two comps.

p.s. don't forget you need a hyphen between your letters and numbers. PJ will throw that in for free.

Hi Anthony, no, you would need to enter before 9AM on Saturday, as that is the cut-off and there wouldn't be any one available to take entries after that.

Actual racing begins at 10AM each day, which means being out on the water at the start line at 10AM. If the wind is lighter, it can take 15 minutes to get to the start line, so worth being on the water by 9:30AM for a 10AM start. We can do our own briefing for windsurfers at around 9:20AM and go through what the sailing instructions say (which we won't get until we sign in on the day). All easy, all fun, but organised fun!!! And not organised by us, which is even better!!!!

Each fleet (lasers, NS14's, windsurfers, etc, etc) will START either 3 or 5 minutes apart and we could be first up or last, or anywhere in the middle (this will be identified in the sailing instructions). After everyone has finished the START sequence will begin all over again for RACE 2!! Then there may be lunch and then back out for RACE 3 and 4.

Another thing, if in doubt, get their early so you are not rushed .... If you get there at 8AM, this will give you time to rig, time to sign ON, get your sailing instructions, chat, get your wetsuit on and then have breifing and then get out on the water by 9:30AM. If you get there at 9AM it will be a panic rush!!

Hey FoS, if you can, best to put your numbers on the sail at home on flat ground, not down the beach!! Line them up above a batten to keep them straight!! Do this while the sail is un-rigged. It'll take 15 minutes or so and you don't want to be doing it down the beach if you are in a rush to get out on the water!!!
