Cremorne main beach could be the go tommorrow if the swell gets big & the southerly continues, some of the best "down the line" wave sailing to be had when conditions are right. Rarley happens but worth checking out. I am on hols this week so may get lucky.
We will be keeping an eye on the cremorne front beach. Swell is big today, but the low tides are early morning and night. Have watched a head high face and 30 knots crossshore disappear to knee high when the tide turned!. Nathan, that was pussy and i, we waited and waited then that happened. Weather was very similar to today.
I've had a couple of sails out there on point swells. Its been overhead and really gusty, but absolutely awesome fun, the ride can be fairly long and fastish with great crumbling lips to smack. The only problem is its very dependant on the tides and wind direction. As Damo said the only possibility is the morning low tide, once it starts to come in it can dissapear faster than a can of Turkey.
Hello Ant, looks like you are in my old stamping grounds. If you get some time off from your "conference" you should check out the beaches on the east side of Brisbane. I used to sail at Wellington Point and first tried it at Manly. I've lost track a bit but I think my nephew still sells gear at Wello. By the way, I was watching the Brisbane news the other day and they were complaining because it got down to 12 degrees the other night. I hope you packed your winter jammies.
