Look at the comments on that video - at least 2 or 3 incidents of lost wings with that system. As far as getting the larger stopper balls, there's also a MacKiteboarding video on YT promoting those, and again there are a few comments of lost wings with that system. I'm new to this sport and don't feel that the larkshead connection is foolproof.
The reason people are losing their wings is because this particular leash doesn't use a larkshead connection.
The earlier version of Howard's leash did. I used that version for a couple of years and never had it come loose.
I quit using it recently because it's even a bit too fiddlie to remove.
Lark's head is technically effective, though I always use this
