You clearly never tried high-quality wetsuits out of the "big names".

My Yamamoto and Yulex wetsuits are actually less stretchable than, say, my Rip Curls.

But this means they do not stretch in a wipeout and let water in by ballooning under pressure. They just fit to you.

And they are warmer, since stretching makes the neoprene thinner, less warm, plus the open cells in the regular neoprene lose their air and thus their insulation, and gain water, thus weight. Yamamoto is closed cells. I now use a 3/2 Isurus instead of my Rip Curl E-Bomb 4/3: Yamamoto #40 for the shoulders (flexier), but #39 for the body (warmer).

And their lightness when wet would be important for winging. The first time I climbed back up on my board with one, I though I had floaters, kind of propelled out of the water!
