Have been using the 87W aluminum for a couple of seasons originally bought it because I needed something shorter than my carbon 103 for a certain shallow lake that I often foil at. The funny thing is it seems a bit faster than my 103 and a friend also has one big guy 210lbs he has not bent or broken it like the couple of hoverglide he destroyed 👍
To me freeride windfoiling has a lot less pull on the arms so even a regular waist harness is to much I found the DaKine travel light works for me it’s kind of a mimimalist hard shell I’ll bet their are others like it.
Manawa said.. Quick update for those following my gear setup. I just pulled the trigger on the new North Wave Gen 3 in 4.7[/b]❤️❤️❤️❤️ I haven’t had it on the water yet It’s incredibly light, and the design of the new luff sleeve (mast pocket) is really innovative. Right now, it’s currently the main piece of 'art' in my bedroom. I like to keep it in sight so it’s the first thing I see when I wake up it's the best way to start the day 😂😂😂 I’ll let you know how it performs as soon as I get it wet! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
What are the physical changes compared to the Gen 2?
Weight reduction, reduced the swing weight,[/b] the Gen3’s refined seam and batten pocket construction and the luff sleeve is different, looks more consistent like Gen1 but not the same. Probably is designed to offer smoother rotation, is engineered to better handle the high downhaul loads required for modern wave sailing. (That's my two cents, anyway...).
What do you rig the 4.7 on 370 or 400 been thinking about a gen 3 but still some gen 2 ava. for a discount.
