You could try it and see for yourself on an underpowered sail. Ideal to have access to similar repetitive conditions.

Did you ever try sail body 360? Yeah upwind 360 or heli tack preferred side.

Yeah depending on conditions, the first few sessions will be physical. That said take it easy and after a couple of sessions, everything will feel more natural.

I wouldn't be too worried about volume unless your spot requires slogging quite a bit. So long as you can waterstart, you'll be good to go.

I'm sure the used market is plentiful where you live and you can always swap boards in case of issues.
