Don't go alone is my advice. Wait until you have a competent crew mate/skipper with you.
There is a lot of power/load in a 33 foot yacht's sails in even a moderate breeze. Things can get very out of hand very quickly when alone on a relatively unfamiliar yacht.
I'd love to go with you but can't for various reasons. It would give me an opportunity to say G'day to Ramona who I served with many years ago.

Some years ago I met a fellow via this group who wanted to crew with me for a two handed trip to Lord Howe Island. He was seriously over weight.
On a training sail in Pittwater he capsized the dinghy off the stern at the mooring in Pittwater.
He couldn’t get back onboard using the stern ladder. I told him that I was sorry but he wasn’t able to come with me unless he could get back onboard using the ladder by himself.
I didn’t get to go that year.

OK, so no sailing, but 2 trips motoring. One to spit bridge and back, then one to Yeoland Point, Sugarloaf Bay and back. Not far, but my first 2 outings in my first keel boat. With the wife and the dog. We even managed to ace the mooring buoy on both attempts. We're soon off for our Day Skipper course then back for some 'real' sailing!!!

I'm in Leichhardt. I might be able to get out for a sail occasionally if you need a hand.
