super good info, thank you!! what size of the L1 do you have and what is the wind range? I’m 100kg myself.

Greg asked me over a year ago what size I would like and I asked for something over 7m. I think he out did himself with the BRM L1 7.5m.
Completely consistent with the designs he has always pursued. I still have a 2014/2015 17m strutliess Cloud and still kite foil it sub 10 knots.

I have both and they are both good. Both have good low end. The lines on the BRM are shorter than the PT.Skin and not as fine.
Both the D handle and bar on the BRM are about half the size of the PT.Skin bar.

The BRM locks in solid with the wind, no wriggling around at all in the wind.

Both of them can be pumped, but the BRM seems to lock onto the wind a little better.

Both are made of light material and pack into a small package.

I have not used the PT.Skin since I got the BRM.

I’m a bit mixed emotion with thin long board. Over 6’ it’a starting to be uncomfortable to sit down on the board and untangle the lines under the nose…because it does happen!! So all the boards over 6’2-6’4…you can’t really labelled that as a Pw board.

lol, in light wind I will drop the parawing or fall off board and run into the lines four or five times a session. I spend a lot of time kicking the board backwards out of the lines. But I get up way earlier on the skinny long DW board than the mid-length. For me it always about the shortest time to get onto the foil. But I never let go of the bar, so I never get tangles, just the inconveniece of removing the board from the lines.

Light wind kiting, light wind winging, light wind parawinging all require "specialised" gear when you are aiming for the extreme low end of each of those disciplines. It all becomes a question of how far you want to go and that can be determined by your local conditions.

I think the fun you have on a "large foil" is a function of weight. Those foils are not an issue for me at 110kg.
If you are significantly lighter, then find the "large foil" that suits you.

I would get a DW board first, then the foil, then the parawing.

- Larger front wing ..... Yes
- Narrower/longer board ...... Yes
- Bigger parawing ..... Yes

You could buy a 1750 AXIS, Gong 3XL, Duotone Amp 1750/1800 ,, they are all low end monsters with a $3k+ price tag

A long long thin board like a Armstrong 8'11, North 7'6 ,, that will help enormously getting you initial forward speed on the water for foil engagement @ $3k

Or a bigger parawing like a Cloud 7.5 L1 or PT,Skin 7.3 ,, they do make a difference at a $1.5-2k price tag.

All three will help your bottom end, just a question of how much you want to spend and your general conditions.

East coast of Asutralia in summer usually gives us 10 to 15 knots in the early afternoon for a few hours before ramping up to 20+ knots. Always nice to get more time on the water during that 10 to 15 knots.

Based on recent El Nino east coast of Australia weather patterns, I would go somewhere between 4m and 5m at your weight.

Nothing more frustrating than being underpowered.

Buy a cheap second hand V2, they all work.

Been researching and definitely i need a bigger foil, was trying to pick up a secondhand Duotone Glide 2.0 1100, but non available. I have found a 1350, but was thinking is that too big for sub 15knots of wind?
I know the Glide 3.0 is out in September but for sure that will be sold out ASAP! 😀

Is the 1350 overkill? 🤔

1350 is a great light wind option.

Well I picked up a 2nd hand Glide 2.0 1350 and man this made my first Parawing sessions easy, boom, up and out of the water so fast and steady, and the stall is great, gives me time to turn on this beast and just made life easier.

I’m thinking the same, currently using a Crest 1050.
what other Duotone foils did you try for PW, just wondering if the big glide will make a big difference. Could wait and see what the new glide sizes are and if compatible with carbon mast.

1750 Amp works well for parawinging. Early get up!!!

I have the 7.3 PT Skin. It is a super fun light wind monster. The materials and flying lines are super light, making the beast easy to fly.

Relaunches well from the water.
