As said above, most likely the batten collapsing to itself. That would be at the link between the flat solid part and the tubing hollow part. It's just a plastic piece. Check if the black tape/ wrapping has any wrinkles near that plastic bit. If so, you'll need to pull the two sections apart and get a new plastic junction.
