Anyone compared these two?
Goal is to use it to Parawing upwind/ ride bumps downwind in bay swell.

What is your weight? I've had both the ART Pro 1121 and the V2 999 (and HPS and Spitfire's). I have just begun using the Surge 1010 for my Parawing journey (up on foil, learning to gybe) and light wind wingfoil. Also have Surge 950 and 830 (yes, I know... excess and all that...).
The Surge 1010 will definitely cover my needs at 82 kgs from my initial outings. For I a while, I thought that I would wait for the larger Surge models that seem to be about to get released (1080 and 1150?) but that need is completely gone after the four-five sessions I've had with the 1010. I do not need a bigger foil than this.
It gets up real easy in a nice way (no sudden burst) and, above all, can stay on foil at very low speeds. Glide is good, better than the V2 999, and it is (much) more controlled, calm and turns better. The ART Pro 1121 had really good glide, but the Surge 1010 is not that far off in a much more accessible and just plain fun to use and carving design. The Surge clearly deals better with turbulence than both the ART Pro and V2. It just sits in the water and you can kindof forget about it, which I like. Top end speed on the V2 999 is a bit higher, but I would argue that the avg speed on the Surge is better due to control and just ease of going at speed, above all in bumpy conditions.
To me, the Surge is the best, easy, most fun and just plainly nice foil that Axis has released and works super well for my wing and parawing (well, not there yet...) needs. I am running the Surge with slightly longer fuses, Ultra Short on the 1010 and 950 and Short with the 830 (sometimes 950). Surf Skinny 48 tail with 1010 and 950, Skinny 45 tail with 830.
