4 cm to spare is nothing assuming everything is set 4cm extra in the extension. Sometimes i would leave set the ext a notch higher if i decide if kindly i might want to bring in more down haul mid season. Even without XT it still beats having to release tension on the beach so you can pull the extension out of the luff pocket to adjust it. You just come in, disconnect, yank a bit further in, reconnect and go on you way
