As regards on a weekly basis, initial response is I wouldn't have thought so. If "atrocious weather conditions including severe storms" were occurring this frequently they would probably stay in the memory including roofs flying off regularly .........if I recall right there was an unfortunate incident a few weeks ago with temporary scaffolding and large underway building panel supports collapsing and causing a fatality in the city........sorry no fatalities in that one fortunately
www.abc.net.au/news/2026-09-27/sydney-building-collapses-ultimo-second-time-just-weeks-apart/107201530 some low pressure fronts and thunderstorms have occurred in the last month or two and screamed through a narrow path sw to ne including hail .......see below there are numerous weather stations in Sydney (and everywhere - not all local weather stations have such data storage or tracking...) whose stored data can be graphed on various timeframes. A quick look at Fort Denison data as per here is interesting - FD data is not flash for sailing purposes at it is shielded from some directions - but is seems to be the closest to Lane Cove with data........wind roses can be plotted - showing typical W, SW and S direction peaks.

Going back in time a couple of years or more the Sydney SailGP fleet was smashed by a SW gale/storm coming through when they were getting the rigs out at Cockatoo - blind freddie would have seen it coming with the black clouds and wind tracking from Nowra up and out to Goulburn etc would have shown it's progress.
