Patrik f-race 100
I've run a Mistral board quiver for the last three years, with the 137, 112 slalom and 55 wide speed. Lately I've been looking for a board I could use in +20 kts and water too choppy for the speed board. I purchased the f-race 100 to fill this need. I gave it my first run last Friday, in a classic +20kt NEer at Wellington Point. While the speed run along the bank is reasonably flat, the work out into the bay and gybe back to the bank is in 0.5m to 1m high chop. In addition the run into the bank is through a 75m section of standing waves. The f-race has the the same outline and rocker as the 92 slalom with additional V in the tail and 50mm extra length and 8 litres of volume. It performed exactly as I wanted it to. It handled the chop brilliantly, was increadibly easy to gybe, very stable through the standing waves and fast (36 kts on my second run) down the bank. In perfect conditions the 92 slalom would be a little faster, but in the real world conditions at Wello, for me the f-race 100 is faster because it's easier to sail.
