I was having a great session set up for 12 - 18kts when it started to pickup. I was tempted out for a bearaway to get a decent speed for the session. The hairs on the back of my neck were standing up but I got 26.18kts which is good for me in the chop. It really ripped in and I decided I better get back to shore before I couldn't. It was too risky to gybe so I dropped in and turned the board around . That's when the fun started! The strong wind and building wind swells made it almost impossible to start. The board would flip upside down and the rig sink so the mast was pointing to the bottom of the lake.. It was the first use of the Hero 9 with max lens. It started out underpowered and pretty boring , built to good then all hell broke loose. Lucky for me the camera recorded it all! I love the extra field of view with the lens but it really flattens out the water. there were 1.5m windswells coming through at the end but they look 15 cm in the video! Next time I'll be more cautious. I'd been locked away from the water for 11 weeks due to Covid and forgotten how 'radical' the lake can get in strong winds..
