I arrived at Coal to see 4 - 5ft rollers with a 25kts plus NE . I wasn't very keen to take the 80ltre isonic speedboard out in that but decided to dip my toe in.. It was mad and on the edge of control. Certainly not fun! I only went out 300m not even into the worst of it. I dropped in , turned the board around and headed back in hoping I'd make it in one piece. I decided to do one speed bear away near the shore . The fin was too big and flipped me and I did a major stack..I did hit 28kts which is a PB for me in the chop..lol's I decided then no more go fast in those conditions.. wave gear only.. I went to Marmong where it was more controllable. Since then I've bought a B & J board which is less manic and much more fun and now Iove those conditions!
