First of all some important advice on working with epoxy resin and especially with carbon fibre: Use face mask and gloves, this stuff is a serious health hazard! Process: - cut and removed the rubber with the help of a heat gun - for maintaining the length I needed to glue the parts together with epoxy without any carbon fibre cloth - waited a day - then sanded the diameter down while maintaining length with grit 80 - since the broken part was at a bend, I used a narrow piece of cloth to wrap around - fixed one end of that cloth to the part where the boom head sits (that is where I didn't need any strength and could easily sand away the carbon cloth later on) - generously wetted the surface of the area which needed reinforcement with epoxy resin - wrapped the cloth around the boom with pressure - wetted again after 2 or 3 wraps to come back to where I started from - held the end while using medium wide masking tape - wrapped in the same direction as the fibre cloth to exert more pressure - punctured the tape to allow the epoxy resin to come out - waited a day - removed tape and sanded the first layer - same procedute again for the second layer - can't re-use former rubber since diameter is larger now hope it will all hold together!!!
