The sail pulls you forward through the rotation, keeping you high up on the foil for a clean, powerful turn. THE DUCK GYBE BREAKDOWN: Step-by-Step Technique: 1. Bear off downwind with good speed 2. Get upright on top of the gear 3. Over-sheet the sail to make it feel light 4. Start carving a big radius downwind 5. Bring body weight and sail forward into rotation 6. Grab wide on the boom 7. Push sail clew from far back up forward in front of your head 8. Front hand slides all the way to tail end of boom 9. Pull the sail actively backwards 10. Reach boom far forward on new riding direction 11. Keep carving big radius downwind 12.
