
The D-Grip puts the front hand in a perpendicular orientation, eliminating the wrist discomfort that limits bar use at the top of the wind range. Greg Drexler explains the ergonomic reasoning behind the design and what it means for comfort and control. Transcript: The handle is a solve for an ergonomic problem with bars. To try to describe some of those problems, when I have my wing positioned high in the sky, I ride with this an underhand grip, and an overhand grip isn't comfortable. And even with an underhand grip, if I'm powered up and want to sheet out, that's not comfortable either. But it's the best I can do. But I drop the wing lower in the window. I want to switch to this overhand grip, and that's sort of the best I can do. But generally speaking, parawings tend to be more loaded toward the front of the bar, and you're kind of choked up here. And this it's just not a comfortable position for your wrist. The way the D handle operates differently is that whether my wing's positioned high or low makes no difference for the for the comfort of my front wrist. Low, high, equally as good either way. And if I'm sheeted out or sheeted in, again, makes no difference. The handle, front portion of the handle just slides at my front hand. And so it's not subject to angle of attack changes. So through the full sheeting and sheeting out range, low to high, this position for the front hand is is the answer. Combined with that, your your front hand is just in front of the center of pull. And so you can position your backhand as you like to put the load more in your backhand, your front hand, but it just gives you all options.
