Regata al Sol - Slick or no slick, we're Mexico bound across the Gulf

Eighteen boats will set sail on Wednesday and Thursday May 12-13 in the 26th biennial Regata al Sol from Pensacola Florida to Isla Mujeres MX, but this year with a twist. Having tracked the Gulf of Mexico oil spill daily for the last couple of weeks, race officials will institute an offset east of the rhumb-line course that will provide a safety buffer away from the spill while only extending the course length by a dozen or so miles.
