'Tasmanian Yachting Season opens' .
The Tasmanian yachting season will be officially opened today when up to 200 yachts and motor cruisers participate in the combined manoeuvres of the fleets of the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania, Derwent Sailing Squadron, Bellerive Yacht Club and Cruising Yacht Club of Tasmania on the River Derwent. In a break with tradition, the Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Yacht Club, Governor Peter Underwood, will take the salute from the ML Masterpiece, anchored in Kangaroo Bay, and the sail past will be led by Commodore Max Creese of the Bellerive Yacht Club.
