I just had myself a custom made balsa wood 5,7 quad fish in Ecuador. Im going to use it for surfing and kiting, and I might be going to the Galapagos in the next few days. I have however heard a horror story from a friend whos balsa board delaminated at alltitude in a plane. I have 2 hollow chambers in my board, does anyone know if I have to drill a hole in it?

No vent plug? I guess if the board is thick enough it should be ok but dont drill any holes in it.

I would put a vent plug in it (like sailboards use)

It is not a hard job, drill hole, set plug in with epoxy and q-cell or microballoons mixed in. Check out the boardlady website I'm sure it would be on there
