[Geek zone] You can work out exactly how much power it draws from you electric meter. Most meters are 66.6 revs per KWhour or 133.3 revs / KWhr. (It will be written somewhere on the meter face in small letters.) So,... to work out the power draw on your new 180 inch Plasma tv; turn off fridge and airconditioner, and anything else that might cycle on and off during test. Check power meter and time exactly how long 1 rev of the wheel takes. (say it's 45 seconds) Therefore power draw with tv off is 3600 / 45 / 66.6 = 1.2KWatts
Turn on 180 inch plasma tv. and repeat meter wheel spin time, say it's now 36 sec.
new power draw is 3600 / 36 / 66.6 = 1.5KW, Subtract the first from the last, which means tv draws 1.5 minus 1.2 KW = .3Kw or 300 watts.
Which means if it's on for 5 hours a night it's still only 5 X 300 = 3KWhour. Which is only 3 X 12.7 cents = 38 cents! 7 days a week = $2.66 Cheap at twice the price. You need a bigger tv ! (don't forget to turn the fridge back on!) [/Geek zone]
No one is paying attention are they?!!! There is an obvious error here and no one has picked it up because YOU ARE ALL ASLEEP!! Just for that, the whole class has detention!
OOH OOH OOH, I KNOW, I KNOW, PICK ME! 180 inch TV!? Thats a huge bitch!
I knew nebbian would get it. Go to the top of the class nebs. (and stop calling me shirley) All you other guys had better get your act together before the end of the year finals, or you'll be back next year to repeat it!
And the good news is, that because of that small mathematical error, the cost of watching your kick ass high def 5.1 surround sound electroplasm 250 inch tv has been reduced by 50%. i.e. now it only costs $1.33 a week in electricity to look at, so you can look at it twice as long if you want.

C'mon, two facts; 1. Politics does not belong here 2. Interest rates and the associated problems have nothing to do with the recent elections. They are cyclic and we are all suffering for it.
Just so happent he rates were high under Labor in the 1980's, "just happened" to drop under Liberal and just happened to rise substantially again under Labor. Natural cycle of enormous conincidences.
Then again I am a Liberal voter but I must acknowledge it is Liberal's fault I can't buy a house as a $450K loan is my entire takehome pay. W^nkers.
Ok I promise, no more.
Hate to go on, but I think you will find rates were going up long before the last election... (I didnt vote for either, we had a great independant where I vote, he lost of course!)
Anyway, vote for who you want, none of them can stop the wind and that is what I am here for.
watch 'the money masters'... might be still on google video... or the third act of zeitgeist.... or just google 'abiotic oil'.... maybe those controlling this oil/military/finance thingy also put flouride in the water......?
Hahahaha good memeory! Stick it to him Mike he will be ducking for cover now the bl00dy Labor voting dope
Kevin '07 has become Interest rate '08
Mark, can you please tell me how Labour is responsible for interest rates going up?
Not sure if you were awake before or during the election but interest rates were going up under Liberal, however they had been claiming they kept them low as well.
you must be to young to remember when intrest rates were at 18% under labour , but dont worry you will be back there soon now you vote them back in
it really has nothing to do with politics, the world over is going through this financial sqeeze, look at the u.s at the moment... watch zeitgeist..... www.zeitgeistmovie.com
