Also to throw another angle on it ,

how long is it acceptable to stand there and put your change away before you move aside and let the next person in line have there go?

my wallet has a annoyingly small change hole and it takes a bit of shuffling to get all the change in and out of it.

if the cashier gives me my change notes on top then i can grasp the coins with my spare fingers and slip the note away before having to buggerise around with the stupid coin hole.

Any thoughts?

You should be happy to have a small change hole, you don't want to lose it.
The more you buggerise around with the coin hole before sliping the note in the better...you'll get much better value for money in the long run.

A tad Freudian perhaps???
