The Dockers get beaten by a legendary team, sitting on joint 2nd place on the ladder and everyone wants blood.

I can't understand those dockers adverts.
What has a guy sniffing his own undies got to do with football?

very noice.

I reckon I could get the gig at Freo.

I once coached junior T-ball and had more of a thirst for blood from my charges than the Shockers show most weeks! [}:)]

I also have an IQ in double figures (ie above 10) which places me in the Freo MENSA class.

Add to that I can see clearly from both eyes, and I can contribute 2-3 junior footy trophies, albeit mainly lame 'coaches awards' (it's not like they can be fussy now is it) and I reckon I am in the hotseat.

Surely Mark Harvey won't get the gig - he is over qualified with his experience and class as a player behind him. He can also tie his own shoes and they don't like smarty pants down Freo way.

Yep, the mighty Eagles aren't going so well either, but it's more of a momentry loss of players than rising damp.

Go Benny!! By September all will be well (not to mention some wind with any luck).

Maybe if they want to win a flag they should start acting like the reigning premiers players. You now, couple mishaps here and there doesn't hurt anyone.

  • Hang out with renowned underworld personalities.
  • do drugs to the point you need rehab.
  • Go on an overseas trip and end up dieing several times in emergency before being brought back to life.
  • Hang off the back of a taxi, then belting the driver over the head with the snapped off aerial.
  • Drink drive through Subi and write off several cars in the process, take out a few road signs and thank god there were no pedestrians around.
  • Go to Melbourne and get locked up for sleeping on a park bench, not knowing what your saying to police when questioned.
  • Take to your sister in law with a knife
  • Run from the booze bus leaving your registered vehicle behind
  • Get chased in your ute through South Perth by the cops after you been drinking all night.
  • [*]Have a punch up with your team mate in public because he's rooting your sister.
It's not like it's new stuff for this club.. Remember the likes of Mainwaring and McIntosh....They had a few behavior problems as well.

GO FREO!!! 2008 Premiers

Well that sounds like a standard weekend for most folks

Hi Blaster I should say that I am not a Dockers hating sort of bloke but I do love to hate their supporters (they make it so easy to).

Just a couple of questions relating to above:
Who does Jeffery 'I'll avya' Farmer play for (occasionally)? Do you think he'll mind you pinching his things to do list?
Any ideas which team has the worst report record for the 2nd year running? (they were also 2nd most reported 3 years ago)
Does anyone at Freo actually know how to spell WIN?

So much potential but so much waste. Wonder who Pav will be leading next year?

Oh BTW....

The derby should be spicy... lets face it it's all Freo have to look forward to...

LOL Should I respond OK you sucked me in.

Yes Funky, we are a passionate mob. Others do tend to dislike the supporters for that. You don't see dockers walking out the gates at 3/4 time like the eagles are renowned for. Eagles only sing when their winning mate everyone knows that, it's been so evident over the last 6 weeks.

Farmer and Tarrant have just been watching the Eagles head line the news week in week out and want a bit of the action. Perhaps we will look back in time and say Farmer and Tarrant started the players public responsibility derailment, which put us on target for a flag. Who knows[}:)]

Who do you support then Funk...Let me guess Collingwood

I could turn this into story with the mistakes Freo made in the early days in regards to Trading Bell not taking McLeod, Richo, Hodge and all the other screw ups. At the end of the day, business people shouldn't start football clubs.

I support Freo only for the fact when they came into the competition I never went for an AFL team. I supported the Bulldogs in the WAFL. In hindsight, that doesn't make sense as the coach and 80% of the players where from Claremont. The only link was the name and a couple of players

Nup I am an Eagles fan through and through. I was a WA kid living and going to school in Melbourne in 1986 when the Eagles began. Even though they got thumped regularly (and so did I ) I stuck with em (and cast off carlton - good move that one) from day one.

A fair cop that I must admit. I worked doing the PA at Subi oval for all AFL games for about 6-7 years (ending 3 seasons ago ) when things weren't so sweet for either team. I have always said that the freo mob are definately more passionate and lounder (esp when their team are behind and needs it). The Eagles supporters were spoilt in the early 90's and just expect success. I have noticed though it only took a couple of relatively successful seasons and the dockers mob started to go a bit the charddonnay way as well... Geez they are feral the Shockers mob though they bite of the neck of the Charddy and pour it over their heads!! [}:)]

The funniest mad-one-eyed dockers folks are like my mate who was a happy Eagles supporter through 2 premierships, but being a freo bread fella, (and Sth freo lunatic) as soon as the Dockers appeared the Eagles were enemy #1. Wassupwidat?? Perhaps it is a misnomer and all the charddonnay folk actually left to roll in the purple patch?

Seriously I have a soft spot for the Shockers but am bloody glad I don't feel the torture that they put their true supporters through... I reckon I'd turn to lawn bowls.

So much for the all WA GF that was predicted?? Likely to be all Vic for the 1st time in nearly a decade?? Makes me sick thinking of it

Geez I have no willpower...

Blaster what was it you were saying about the Dockers being pillors of society

It's certainly been a big week for Freo.

Honestly I think with the coach gone, probably Farmer and maybe Haselby, the big Pav would have to be looking to SA wouldn't he??

Run Benny run... a couple of years ago yelling that was a good thing... sort sounds wrong now.

He did the crime (well sort of - not that the AFL have anything on him, but I did love Dim-eat-trio's posturing) and he did the time - welcome back champ.

Geez gimme 5 full days off to go kiting and even I will sign up for Shockers membership!!

It may pay to ignore all media for those days and then deal with reality later.

That's gotta be the best end to the worst week in ages

What a tops weekend for WA footy lovers! (c'mon I'm sure at least some Dockers folk enjoyed Benny's triumphant return). What a champion. I thought he brought his own footy,he had it so much...

Freo were outstanding! Begs the question - where has the club been hiding the economy sized bag of spines they handed around prior to the game?

Da je vu on last year? Perhaps the AFL might start the season in July? Breaks even the most die-hard fan's heart that yo-yo form. Harvey should help iron that out... If Harvey doesn't get the gig I reckon Sheeds is the red hotty and will be the best thing to ever happen to that list.

6 best in class returns for the Eagles and they were up n' at em' again. Pretty glad there wasn't another 5 mins in the game against Sydney... Just once I wish they would give up and take a hiding!

Aaah yes big gill, the litmus will be applied to both teams this weekend.

Time to put up or bugger off to netball... (well for the Dockers it is, maybe a few weeks away for the Eagles)

I just re-read some of this post (shamefully reading my own posts too) and I think between blaster and I, we have predicted every major event in football this last week! Sheeds at the Dockers - Harvey at Essendon?? Lots of jacket waving at the derby

I had to arf arf at the dig at Daniel Kerr less than 24 hrs before Jeff Farmer got up on a car bonet with a wing mirror in his hand!![}:)] Too funny.

Now for this next week (gazing into my crystal ball) I see... lots of green arrows but no time to kite!! Alas all is not lost as I have this weeks lotto numbers... Where to travel... so many choices Wait my plane crashes on an island where every chick is a babe (and are kept very tidy despite sweltering heat and lack of hygiene) and we cruise around looking for windy spots in a combi drinking 20 year old beer... sounds feasible

Just to re-iterate GO BENNY!!! What a champ (albeit flawed - but really - what a champ)
