If you live or surf in Esperance keep an eye on this one..
"Two Esperance locals in particular believe the solution could be performed simply and without creating an eyesore along the foreshore."

How hard would it be to use computer modelling to see what will happen to the surf/waves with the various solutions?

Like most things - depends. If the wave patterns are already well known then a computer model can be bukild reasonbaly quickly. If you need to deploy a measurement buoy and wait for enough data to be gathered...
Could take years.
Of course you could plug in a "standardised" wave pattern into the model and get approx results quite quickly, but dependent on the local geography and bathymetry they may not be indicitive.
A local uni with a hydraulics or ocean research group may already have wave data, and they will have the modelling tools too.

Where they're talking about there aren't any surfable waves, I think the erosion is caused by local, strong wind chop.
