Try winding the thread on from the tip of the finger first, then poke it under the ring. It avoids the blood getting trapped in the finger tip.

Wow thats very clever, now if only there was a similar way to get things that are stuck out of your ring.

Shan't argue with that ^^^, just saying Townsville has three libraries but 17 "adult novelty stores" I can't imagine the wear and tear on their products would require weekly replacement(I don't mean the books) so stuffs going somewhere, we could make some serious cash if we come up with a gimmick that did this. One the one hand it would be pretty confronting to have something like the "claw" from the cinema lobby hovering over your derrier but on the other hand how much would you pay not to go to the emergency room and do the whole slipped in the shower and someone left buzz lightyear in there routine.

^^^ That's how we do it too. Jewelry used to be made of soft metals, now with titanium and stainless steel, it's not as simple as just 'snipping' the ring. Also, rings used to have rounded edges where a bit of butter, soap, oil or vas would get it off. A lot of cheap rings (especially stainless steel bands) are cut from a tube and the edge left square.
