Feeling really flat today, not even sure why?? Did all the things that usually make me feel good, but today just...ugh!? Anyone else ever have days like that? What do you do? Why does it happen?

I think most people have the odd flat day. I think it is a case of hitting the slight lows, so you know when those highs are... Not sure...

There's some things you can try... This is what I do... No surf and feeling flat, I usually try to hit the garden for a bit, clean up the wardrobe, change the sheets, do some washing, tidy up, and then crack a beer. By then I'm usually feeling pretty content with things.

Play to your strengths... I found out a while back that I have an achiever style personality. Sort of explains ticking off tasks... Do a google on personality types, and try to see where you fit in... Helps you understand what makes you tick... Might help you understand what you can do on those flat days.

They say money doesn't buy happiness... But there's no way in hell that I subscribe to that pile of bull-cr*p.

A little bit of spare money has helped my buy a nice house, own a nice car, own a quiver or surfboards, a couple of SUP's, plus my lovely under-utilised Ducati, and my soon to be upgraded Honda Dirt Bike (getting a KTM 450). If I'm a fraction flat, I just open my garage door and look at the goddies! If no surf, there are other activities... Mountain Bike, Dirt Bike, Road Bike, Flat Water SUP, and Down Wind SUP... I think I have a few bases covered.

PS - Good Friday is a weird day... Maybe you are closer to Jesus than you think, and you are feeling his pain on the cross. Maybe (without realising it) you're just missing your AFL footy, and all will return to normal tomorrow! Or maybe you could switch over to Geelong and enjoy another merry season!

I think we all get that flat feeling.

I was fortunate enough to go get up early and pushed myself to head out for a surf this morning with about 200 of my closest friends. I then visited a friend down the coast and visited my mum, who's recovering from a knee operation. I came home, had a nanny nap while watching the telethon and then flicked around and caught the end of a Jesus movie - just when they were nailing Max von Sydow to the cross.

I usually go for a run on Friday, but haven't been doing it for the past week as I've been away and really couldn't be fagged today. I suffer terribly from procrastination.

I'll have to get back into the routine next week. Tonight, if I play my cards right, I should get a root and sleep like a baby - ready for the next day.

I feel flat quite often and think the best trick to escape the feeling is to go out and push yourself to do something - no matter how mundane.

Glad you mentioned the bit about 'no surf and feeling flat...', think half of my problem is no breeze last few days....btw if the Ducati ever needs a bit of use ...

Adolf is a wise man also... Yes, push yourself to do something, or even better, something new. They say you should do something quite different every year, and go to some place quite new every year.

Exercise is a brilliant pick-me-up. Natural endorphins, or something. As per Adolf's suggestion, "just do it", pardon the pun and procrastinations... Walk, skate, bike ride, windsurf, surf, run... Even on a wet day, try heading down to the shopping centre and walk around for an hour at a moderate pace, having a perve on some nice babes... because you're not there to shop, you can even change course for a better view (occasionally). It's 50-50 on whether you should wear sunnies... Yes, at the big in/out-door places like Warringah Mall & Pacific Fair...

I reckon its sometimes (almost) worse when you go through the whole day having that 'good /content feeling' without knowing why,,, Its because i start thinking that most people probably feel like that most days of their lives, where as i don't, and i don't know how to recreate that feeling..

Even though I don't think I suffer from the blues, me always make sure I have 2 passions going on at all time. Could be windsurfing and macrame, or windsurfing and hockey, whatever. Windsurfing and surfing is the best combo. Windsurfing and part-time studies good too.

This way, always something to turn to.
