Why are the citizens in a very progressive left leaning country like France so unhappy that they want to burn the place down.

Seems to me its a clear failure of left wing ideology in practise, no one is happy.
The more radically left a place becomes the greater the crime, poverty, division etc followed by chaos and violence. The only means to stop that is by force of an authoritarian govetnment

They reported that the French government of President Macron said the kerfuffle was ultra-left groups and criminals. They also reported that the left wing candidate in the next election said it was the government's fault the riots happened and the rioters should be listened to, whilst the right-wing candidate said 'violence is not an opinion, destruction is not a form of expression'.

But yep, you might be right. No reason why teachers, parents and pupils couldn't also be ultra-left and criminals and the BBC, al-Jazeera and Reuters reporting might be controlled by zionists.
