Eagles to be better next year I guess. Not too bad from wooden spooners. Geelong are wonderful to watch. Interesting watching Selwood passing to Selwood. Selwood did some good shepherding and clearly beat Selwood on occasions. All up I thought Selwood played well. Selwood wasted some chances and Selwood will do better in future.

probably the worst game Eagles have played all year. they looked rattled and uncomposed from the start.

Not taking anything at all away from Geeelong. They are the best team goin around for my 2c

Eagles should be in the mix for GF again next year.

Classic.... J Selwood had been playing for 5 season, and has played in 5 Prelim Finals, and will appear in his 4th Grand Final next Saturday. Brilliant work...

One of his older brothers told him that "first impressions count". Lingy and others were pissing in his pocket in that first pre-season, telling others that he would be a future captain...

3 things forced G Ablett Jnr out the door;
1) Geelong refusing to revise the crappy contract deal * (see below)
2) Money, provided mostly by the AFL
3) Selwood's obvious stature in the club, and Ablett's belief in himself to lead...

* a previous manager (not Liam Pickering) put in place a poor deal (with hind sight). Liam's work with Gary at Geelong amounted to next to nothing... But that was mostly to do with Geelong's refusal to renegotiate the previous bad deal... But that deal was probably OK at first, but G Ablett Jnr became the best player in the league during the contract term...

Sorry to put a downer on things WCE fans but your side over achieved this season and dont be disapointed if ya end up back where ya belong next year.
Cox and Kerr looked spent and struggled to finish the season with the same form as they were praised about all year. Need to be better managed next year so they can reach peak near the finals(if they make it again)
