HELP MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

I'm supposed to have a 5 way link up sunday morning with people overseas and interstate, and I've got no idea what to do.

I was too embarrassment to say I didn't know what SKYPE was, WTF is it, is it a GPS receiver that you can make telephone calls from???

How do I know what no. to ring, and them to ring me?

HELP MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

Technologically illiterate is me!!!! But I'll be thinking that you need to download 'Skype'.

Uses internet to transfer audio (phone calls).

I downloaded it a few months back, but got so much spam that I removed it within days!!!

Downloading tins of Spiced Ham? Your playing me for a fool, yes I know I am one.

Ok, you download it then what? Do you have to pay? Do you need a microphone? How do you know what number to ring? How do you ring, do you do it through your phone or the computer? There's supposed to be 5 of us, how does that work?

(I think) you need an earpiece (bluetooth maybe?) and...erm...the fee is covered in your internet provider's cost.....and...erm....(I think) when you download you get a 'trial' period fee free.

Hards, never actually used it, but ....

yes you need a microphone, and speakers (or headphones)

yes its free

basically its Voice over internet protocol, but the page is full of ads etc, thats how they pay for it.

If you dont get any REAL help here, give Gadget a call, he's a guru on all this stuff.

um idk much about it but u do need a mic (or phone thingy) , dunno about numbers but i think u do have to pay but it is alot cheaper than normal if calling overseas ect....my neibour uses it alot to talk to her brother over in kiwi land

thats about all i know so im not much help

have used it for a couple of years to talk to my son in LA
it is free for computer to computer but you can pay in Euros to call and receive to any phone.
you need a microphone and better than basic broadband if you also want to video call.
it is really easy to use once you have downloaded and installed it...just follow the online directions.
you might have to tweak some audio settings but play around it is totally free.
conference calls are easy when you see the interface on screen.
never had any problems of any sort with it.
get a unidirectional mike so it only picks up your voice and not all surrounding sound (less than $20 works fine from dicksmith)
don't need phone numbers just email to get started

With a daughter at Uni in Qld (full of bogans & cane toads - her words)
we talk for hours per week on skype
FOR NUTHIN'

Download the program, follow instr'ns ( or ask any person under 21 for directions) & get with it.
We talk to people all over the world- for nuthin' but the download

gee this is getting hard to type with the end of a very nice bottle of Shiraz/Viognier (& the pasta was gooooood too. zzzzzzzz

Yes I have downloaded SKYPE wasn't hard, did a test run, and it stated my microphone is stuffed, so need to buy a decent one, and hopefully that fixes problem?

have you checked the mixer settings??? Is the mic turned on, volume wound up????

It caught about half my speech, heard it played back, but the rest wasa lost, so I imagine, that's why it said my mike was stuffed?
