Don't recommend Picasa. It can't even order by date picture taken. It does/doesn't do plenty of other annoying things too.

All I want to do is:
- View images.
- Slideshows.
- Be able to mark images as I view them (say spacebar) so when finished viewing I can Copy and Paste the marked ones elsewhere.

That's it. Does ACDSee still do this basic stuff? I really want no more. Hell apart from the last one windows can do it all.

I don't want any more bells and whistles than that. I hate bells and whistles, they usually just get in the way. If I need bells and whistles I load Photoshop but that is too bloated for these simple tasks.

Surely there is something free but I don't want to have to try everything out. Word of mouth is better.

The best little image viewer around is Irfanviewer. It will open and edit just about any graphic file you can name.

It can also create self executing slide shows as well as play most movie formats.

Get it from www.irfanview.com but make sure you download "all plugins" as well.

By the way it is totally freeware. No donations, advertising, registration unless you want to and no trial period. FREE!!!!
