Hi can anyone advise me on a good internet provider that does ADSL in Perth. We use huge amounts of internet and wireless isnt going to be enough. And not Telstra because I refuse to use them. Thanks.:-)

Zetta net. They are a perth mob and when yo speak with them you actually speak to someone locate and can speak and understand english. They used to be Globaldial.com. I've been with them for years without any issue...at all

+1 for westnet, although they are IInet now. We've found them very prompt to help solve any issues that crop up. If there's a big waiting list they call you back instead of leaving you to hang on.

With IInet you also get to speak to someone in Perth if the time zone is right. Otherwise it's the east coast or South Africa.

I was with telstra cable for years without a problem but i've been with iinet on a fibreplan for the last 3 years and they have been exceptional. At the start i was in an uncommon situation and was given a direct line to tech support in Perth.

I just find Telstra very difficult to deal with. They lack total customer service.

^^ I find that unusual, been with telstra for years , any help required has always been instant . Example , last week my phone died , a 20 minute phone call had it sorted , I live 1400km's from Perth . new I 6 arrived 3 days later on a new plan that was cheaper with much more data limit.

Each to their own I guess

They certainly used to be like that up until a few years ago, but they finally realised they were losing all their business to iinet and westnet and internode etc,. all now owned by iinet I think. That forced telstra to get their act together and to a large extent, they have. It's certainly way better than it used to be.

Way back in the days when they had a monopoly, I phoned up to complain about a matter they had stuffed up and their response was,..
"Well we can disconnect you if you like."
I don't think they say that sort of stuff any more.

I beg to differ...

I moved away from Telstra after years of land-line phone and Internet custom with it. I left because of (1). recurring billing mistakes, and (2). having much difficulties getting someone on the phone. After I left, Teslta kept calling me to rejoin it, promising that it has reformed itself. I still have Telstra mobile because no other services have coverage over my rural property. Recently, I rang up Telstra about wanting to change my credit card details.

Two attempts, each lasted longer than ten minutes, and all I got was some crappy recorded sales pitch. So I emailed my questions. I was told to "Leave it with us" in the auto-reply email which bravely promised a reply within 24 hours. Well, it was 3 bloody days before I got a call from it ! Apparently I can't update my credit card details online even though I have registered with it.
