1 person has been killed in Joondalup last night after a group of 6 or 7 men in their mid to late 20's allegedly attacked the man in Grand Boulevarde Tavern. 3 people are in Joondalup hospital with serious head and facial injuries and a further 7 people have been admitted with a range of injuries including concussion, broken bones and moderate bruising.
Earlier in the night the same group of men were involved in antisocial behaviour at The Old Bailey tavern. The barmaid told the West Australian that chairs were thrown around the establishment and a drunken brawl with other patrons continued outside. Police attended but no arrests were made.
A Police spokeswoman told the West Australian that "Police responded to an emergency call from the barmaid of the Old Bailey. In accordance with revised 2010 Policing guidelines several officers attended the scene within minutes of recieving the call. After assessing the situation the officers unanimously deemed it an 'inappropriate operational risk' and immediately moved one street away. The officers remained in the area. Twenty one minutes later police responded to an emergency call and soon afterwards were in attendance at The Grand Boulevarde tavern. Officers then secured the area for the arrival of the paramedics and performed first aid on a number of individuals."
Police and Paramedics performed first aid in an attempted to revive a man beleived to be in his early 30's. The man was officially pronounced dead on arrival at Joondalup health campus.
Police said witnesses were reluctant to give information on the appearance of the attackers.
When asked why the officers didn't attempt to arrest the group of men earlier in the night the police spokeswoman said, "All our police men and women have been trained to leave the immediate area where there is an inappropriate operational risk. As outlined in the revised 2010 Policing guidelines, officers are duty bound to leave an area that exposes themselves or the WA Police force to legal uncertainty."

and look what happened in the court case yesterday. Why would a copper put himself in the firing line for their pitiful wage when the judiciary and courts wont back them up?
When the newspapers tear them a new buthole because they have to shoot someone.
And the politicians are too weak to make a real stance. And to top it off, Joe Public (in general) do not respect the cops.
