I would love one but they are too expensive. Last summer we looked at them and they had a starting price of 20 grand U.S. If they where about 5 grand id be all over it like a fat kid with a cup cake.

I'm thinking, $2500 board, with $2000 outboard motor. Should be able to do it close to $5K if they made enough of them.

Just what we need on our waterways - more noise, more fumes, more bogans running into kids and other water users...

Like them or not, you better get used to the idea. They are that good that people are going to have them, even at $20k.

The Toys of Summer 2012: Jet Surf Factory GP 100
Bailey S. Barnard

JULY 01, 2012
.
Powered surfboards have become the must-have water toys for yacht owners and seaside dwellers, and no model offers a more impressive combination of speed and lightweight construction than the Jet Surf Factory GP 100. The board uses a 17 hp 100 cc gas-powered water-jet engine (similar to that of a Jet Ski or Sea-Doo) to propel riders along the surface of the water at speeds as fast as 35 mph. Riders stand on the carbon-fiber board, loop their feet through a pair of straps, and grab the handheld throttle, which is tethered to the front of the board. Other boards can achieve similar speeds, but they weigh 100 pounds or more. The GP 100, which measures nearly 6 feet long and about 2 feet wide, weighs about 30 pounds.

The $19,500 GP 100 is intended primarily for competitive use. For less intrepid riders, Jet Surf offers the 33 mph Ultra Sport and the 30 mph Rookie. Prices for those models start at $12,500 for the Rookie and $15,500 for the Ultra Sport.
