RE topic:Safety Bay car parking on the grass

I dive at the area you are talking about and I can assure you that the next kite surfer who nearly runs me over while I’m trailing a dive flag will be responsible for all your gear getting run over. Be aware you must stay 50 meters from a dive flag that's law test if you like but I have had a gut full be considerate of others that use the area. It’s not just a kite beach.

Sounds pretty specific to me. Just stay away from dive flags. It doesn't matter where you are or who it was.

Seahunter/Seahustler,
You should be more considerate of the kitesurfers in the area because it has been our nominated area for a number of years.

The small flags that you tow behind yourselves are inadequate!

In future you should look at the recommended dimensions of the flag that you have been towing!

Recently I almost collided with a diver near Safety Bay boat ramp who was towing a small flag that was far from legal.

The minimum size of a towed dive flag is 300mm x 200mm and the flag that I saw towed by a man who I first thought was a seal was far from that.

As for the comment of running over someone's gear maybe you should reconsider as it was more than likely your own fault for displaying an inadequate flag.

You would be better off losing some weight and then I wouldn't have come over to view a seal that turned out to be an overweight diver chasing crabs!

Are you some kind of moron southern x this is'nt the first stupid comment of yours i've read on this forum. If you cant see a flag bobbing around in the water no matter how small the flag is (and from your post you must be frigin blind to nearly run over a diver)then sit on the beach and stay out of the water its people like yourself that cause accidents, dont you look in front of you when kiting, what ever happend to being aware of your surroundings.

running a diver over is mega easy; all black wet suit in the arvo with the sun setting over the water makes it hard to see the next coming wave let alone a head protruding the surface.
mega annoying when people do dive at a spot you are kiting at because it means basically you cant kite as they can surface anywhere and spotting them is near on impossible

if you do dive at a beach with many kiters out before you go in the water you are ruining their time on water as they have to try spot a head breaking the surface and still maintain their control over the kite and how they are using it.
going out when kiters are out is inviting trouble as your not like a swimmer who is easy to spot and getting run over flag or not is very likely.
if you are using scuba then just stay on the bottom the whole time and surface next to the beach, kiters only use the top 20cm so you are pretty safe if you are 1m down.

it's hard to tell weather the diver is on a port or starboard tack

Colin it's really not that hard stay 50 meters from the diver, if he has no flag run the idiot over for not having one or tell him to get out of the water and get a flag or better still call marine and harbour or fisheries department and he will be fined $200 dollars for no flag. The same applies to you guys not adhering to the dive flag 50 meters that’s a $500 fine .If I rock up for a dive and there a kites out I go somewhere else or go to the other end of the bay away from there launch area, because I see it as what rite do I have to spoil your day when you were there first but I only ask for a bit of space if I'm there before you guys, I’m never out for more that 40 mins and rarely out in front of your take off area, I dive more east of the ramp it is normally east of the ramp where I normally nearly get run over and I mean I have had a board go over my legs .I know that some idiots down there think it's funny to see how close to me they can get to put the ****s up me and I know for fact they have seen me. I’m sure they would be very amused if I drove over there board in my car or if I take my boat out there and started to play chicken with them .I haven’t posted this to have a go at anyone just to ask for you guys to look out for us before something ugly happens or someone gets killed or seriously hurt.

Grow a brain, it might hurt for a while but i am sure even a knob like yourself would benifit from this. go and say that type of stuff on the beach and then let us know how you went.
