one reccomendation i will make is the ozone samurai (not the samurai 2). .
if you can find one it will be very cheap as they are years old and are perfect for what you are looking for great safe power machines that seasoned kiters still love today
Have to agree the Ozone Samurai's are one of the best beginner to intermediate buggy kites around. Go for low aspect kite (more squarer than long and thin) they are easier to fly and more stable to learn on, go for a 3-4mtr so you can get moving in moderate winds, stay out of the strong winds till you learn or otherwise you will get hurt.
Fly by handles with kite killers so when thing go pear shaped you can just let go and the kite killers should ground the kite. Learn to fly a 4 line kite first before rushing into a buggy.
Some recommendations
Ozone Kites:
Samurai, Fury, Cult, Flow
Peter Lynn Kites:
Hornet, Twister
HQ Kites:
Beamer,
PKD Kites:
Buster
Flexifoil Kites:
Bullet, Rage, Blurr
Hope this help and best I luck, I'm a mad buggier
