I'm trying to work out how to spend three weeks trekking in Nepal with a pack less than 14kg. So my question is how many pairs of socks and jocks do I need?

With trekking socks are more important than jocks, 2 pairs of socks are reqd as they rub against each other not your feet, dampness is your worst enemy inc weight if serious, fullers earth helps dust your feet, a must imho, jocks can be reversed and turned inside out giving you 4 days per set, then wipe you arse on them and hang them on a bush

After doing a lot of km's over 20 years in different pairs of not-quite-right fitting boots I found a pair last year that are spot on, perfect for two pairs of socks, I'm figuring on 2-3 days per pair of liner socks and maybe twice that on the thick socks. I go the complete opposite with my feet, I don't powder up, I smother in between the toes with Bepanthen nappy rash cream, it helps lubricate between the toes to prevent blisters and the antiseptic properties are mint for keeping the skin in top nick.

I thought 4 days per pair of jocks was the golden rule anyway

For me it was 3 of each.

1 wearing, the other drying on your pack whilst you walk. The other for clean at night.

If you can't pack your belongings up in less than a day to move house , then you've got too much stuff. Do you think you're kids will keep it when you die ? Ha, no they won't , they'll take it all to the tip.

Look to the traditional Japanese home where some rooms only have a few scatter cushions and a cabinet of some sort.

Less is more when it comes to possessions. If you want freedom then start getting rid of your junk now. (Except maybe your boards}

And that Seabreezers is what I believe is " Minimalism"

I know you mean shrinkage. Like George , I've been caught like that surfing in 6 deg water in the North sea.
I think it lasted for a week . Every time I looked , nothing.
