After having recently "got back into" windsurfing after a long lay off, I recently purchased my first new board for about 15 years.

Anyway, was using the new beast on the weekend and came a cropper, causing the mast to smack the nose of the board and crack the surface.

My question is, after spending a couple of grand on a new unit, then doing something stupid (like running aground on a sandbar)
Is it OK to cry?

Thats OK - we're all gay anyway apparantly, so we can all sit down together and have a good sook.

You must have done some bad ** in a previous life to deserve that one [}:)]

Nothing major, just cracked the gelcoat (is that what its called now) around the nose tip.
Put it in for repair coz I dont want any water in there.

Its just typical, i've had an old polyester board for bloody years, but never upgraded coz I only seemed to manage two or three outings a year.

But the kids are grown and I have more time, regained the urge to get out there an finally purchased a new board. Used it four times and bloody cracked it.

Its always the same isn't it!!!!!
Whenever i buy new gear theres no wind for weeks, or when i do get out get a massive gouge in the bottom of the board or a nasty nick in the kite!!

Maybe we should take up bowls. Cheaper and it has its dangerous side.

plus you may drop a bowl on your toe sustaining major injury.
Also the beer afterwards in the clubhouse which is soooooooooo cheap can inflict severe and everlasting injuries.

Port love port, but my father warned me that drinking too much port makes your toes drop off.
Seems bowls can be disasterous on the toes in all aspects.
