I'm studying externally through Charles Sturt. It basically sucks unless you you are the sort of person who can say "Between the hours of 5pm and 8pm I am working on my university work" and then stick at it. Sure its billed as flexible but there are only so many hours in the day and there are so many distractions....

It depends on what you're studying...I looked into online course providers a few years back vs full-time & part-time study & chose full-time study (2 yrs, dip.). I know there's a few unis & tafes that provide 'off campus' units...prob carry more weight than an online course would?!?
In saying that, I'm looking into using an online course to supplement my qualifications, if that's what you're talking about?

like mobydisc, i too am studying at distance through c.s.u, the interact website they have for distance students has to be the worst most illogically set up interface i have ever come across... you should get extra credit points for just being able to work it out.
i completed cert iv in ohs via t.a.f.e's o.t.e.n distance learning the year just gone.
i enquired about this course with other private providers like the one provided via seek.com website, they wanted something like $2500.00...
i enquired to t.a.f.e found out that if i was on the dole i could do it for $100
so i signed up for the dole, enrolled for $100.00 and saved myself a bunch

I finished the elements course from www.westlawn.org just before christmas and enjoyed it.
Depends what your looking for but the Open on-line courses look pretty good.
If your thinking of doing on-line courses you have to be very self disiplined to get on-line course work done. Otherwise it's a waste of money.
