I'm confused. why does the video look like it was taken in South America. I've never seen a road sign in Spanish in either Nepal or India.

Also the classic overland was Kathmandu to London. Is this a mini version?

by cripes another nonsense thread from PM... it's a grand total of 35 hours drive. Not remotely "overlanding" in any sense of the word.

And why do you need such a big truck? Usually you land at the airport, haggle with a taxi driver, and go. A Suzuki Swift or 7 seat Toyota is more the go. Aircon is essential.

It would take more like 50-70 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.

It's much more pleasant to fly. That's the way the locals would do it. Either that or a luxury Volvo coach.

If you really want to go overland catch local buses between districts. 80 rupees ($2) for each leg (about 8 hours travel) and you get up close and personal with the locals.

Be careful what seat you take. Indian femurs are about 100mm shorter than mine. The pain of being wedged into your seat mounts very quickly and you might not have room in the aisle to get up and stand.

From what I've heard from friends who've spent a lot of time on the roads in India, I reckon that'd be way more accurate than Google Maps 35 hours.

Once had beers with some guys who'd driven a Hilux from Perth to London, now that sounded like an adventure!

Are we sure another word for "driving" is actually needed?
