So last Saturday somebody asked me to help them buy and set up a fish tank.
- Take her to a aquarium
- Spend 4hrs going between aquariums
- Transport cheap ass fish tank home
- Set up fish tank
- Tell her it's missing a piece
- Tell her I can make the piece
- She insists I get the right piece
- Wait till Monday
- She calls; shop says they have the piece
- Send me to go collect the piece, shop doesn't have piece, come home (~$6 petrol), make piece.
- Rinse tank out multiple times
- Verify everything working
- Start filling tank
Her: WAIT! You can't use the bathroom water, use the kitchen water.
Me: It's the same water, what did you think they have special pipes for bathrooms?
Her: Just get the water from the kitchen
Me: WTF
....
Her: 1/2 hour later, do you mind not sweating.

You see if I had just told her to go FHS, I'd have been better off.
No thanks, no nothing.

So have you done something for an ungrateful person?

Some people have a completely different logic processing unit and sometimes often almost always want things done in a way which is beyond the understanding of normal people.
Oh wait. It's a post from Flysurfer so I'm not sure which party that applies to here.

Didn't get nothing... except when I made the pump silent, I got a thanks... but that's all I expect after 12 years of misery, I mean marriage

I hear you pweedas; btw I'm well versed in system theory so my logic is usually infallible.
You just made me think of something... how come there aren't many female philosophers?

Oh and I forgot to mention, I also got a nail in my 1300km old tyre :)

hey flysurfer maybe u could take her to lillyfield were they have & im not joking "The feminist bookshop" i kid u not that is the name of the store i thought to myself is there that much of that crap written that it can fill its own store & who the hell is buying so much of it that it can support a shop .It must b a front to launder drug money. Imagine if i open the male chauvinistic pig bookshop they would come around & burn it down so it really does go to show that men are odviously more tolerant than women as that store is still standing

@wodgina6722: then I'd be lonely and paying for the privilege. 12 years dude, she'd take everything, including my motorbike she can't even ride.

A lotofwind, just doesn't get how they're laughing, cos they have the courts on their side, so 1 call and we get locked up...

Anyway she's not bad, just ungrateful for the crap I go through for her... like when I put together some furniture (bed, 2 cabinets, 1 chest) for when her parents came for 6 WEEKS!

You don't need much in Australia let alone a woman (btw there are heaps of keen women out there now thanks to female empowerment/feminism soooooo easy to pick up it's a joke almost) I was happiest when I had nothing..no job drinking home brew...surfing all day.

Jesus mate i hope she doesnt read this, or maybe it will make her a bit more grateful

I love the way you refer to your wife as somebody, dont worry about the money dude, sanity and pride are more important

Obviously the tank saga is not the whole story of you and her maybe the Poor relative's approach might wake her up, just not on the floor, poop in the tank fish'll love it, just dont fall over

If you have kids just put up with it and get a younger sportier version to take your mind off of how stuffed you are, if no kids give her the keys to the house and walk out if it's so bad that you have to winge about your wife on a water sports forum(no offence by the way).
Good Luck mate.

Just pour some chemicals into the tank one day and kill the fish.

But seriously...not only do I hate ungrateful people, I hate people who can't do a favour for a mate without expecting anything in return. (note: I'm not implying anything to do with the original story in the first post).

We've got this mate of ours that just wont do a single favour without expecting something. He installed my mates headunit in his car...carton of beer. He lends you a trailer....carton of beer. Gives you a hand moving stuff for a few hours...carton of beer. I mean, for God's sake...I thought mates helped each other out.

I've swapped engines and done all sorts of work on mates cars, spent an entire weekend helping another mate move house, polished his BMW M3 for him while he was at work because a guy was coming round to buy it etc etc etc and never once asked for anything in return. That's not to say my mates never showed their appreciation though and I know if I need something from them, they'll give it if they can. Not to mention if I ever got into a big bar fight I know who'd be jumping in for me no questions asked

Except for one of them...not without a carton.

Reading that I was thinking that you would have to be married to that or you just wouldnt do it, unless you were going to get a root at the end.

I believe just one drop of dish washing detergent will do that trick. It breaks the surface tension of the water and then the fish can't breathe.

Found that out by mistake one day and killed my three gold fish, Huey, Dewey and Louey.

All you can do is laugh, at least it stops you crying...

As I read the story my thoughts went from someone you were keen on to family to partner.

Failing that I was going to ask you to fix my fish tank

Nice one man, notice the usual non-funny female reply... that's cool though, we don't care as long as the procreation, cooking and entertainment for us men keeps coming, all's forgiven.
