I have a strange feeling if we say no we don't know a lender your reply would be along the line of....

I struggled for a long time with this idea of mine and after many years of searching John Doe came to my rescue with a low interest loan
suitable for applications such as this.

Then I would say, I tried doing some research on john doe and his lending facility and they stated " we are just setting up and this is our only contact.

And bla bla bla.

Not long after we go back and forth Laurie realizes it was a scam post and this topic gets locked.

I could be wrong - if so prove me wrong jess91, you must have some paperwork you could scan to show us what your exactly trying to do. Above ground/ undergroung/bush retreat/complex for many people???

Well I have to say I was hoping for some more positive responses. At the moment all I have is drawing on paper and no scanner :( Maybe I should just delete this if people think its a scam.. I haven't used forums much before and must say this isn't quite the experience I was hoping for

There are a lot of 1 post trolls that push their products through this and other forum sites.

My 2 cents worth... Shipping Containers are moderately small, need quite a lot of alterations and additions, and good containers aren't "free"... Older containers will be showing signs of rust... You'll need to treat the rust, which is kind of easy... but you'll need to keep treating the rust, over time...

However, I think a better solution would be;
- follow the shipping container principle... by building "small"...

Even smaller than this...


You don't even have to build Zone 8, 9, and 10...
You could also build a smaller kitchen (Zone 4), and push the dining table further into the kitchen, allowing to build a smaller Living Zone (3)...
Zone 1 would be the deck...

Zone 10 - The Study, could easily be your little storage shed, for surfboards, motorbike, etc... No finishes...

Or - Zone 10 could be the 2nd bedroom / rumpus area, and a storage area could be tacked onto that...
And don't build Zone 8, and don't build the 2nd bathroom.

Yeah, I agree Moby. It also costs in rates, water and power. In SA, water/sewage rates are based on property valve (Little things one over looks when buying their 1st home).

Jess91: As what Moby said, are you using shipping containers for artistic expression, or cost ?. If it's the later, why not build an over sized car port and plonk a 2nd hand demountable under it ?
